A Message from the Chief of Police

As we begin 2024, the Department will be focusing on community involvement and quality of life issues. In January, we began with a Citizen Academy that focused on the many different areas within the Police Department. This 6-week academy brought insight into how the Police Department functions and highlighted members of the Department. Other community outreach programs, such as Town Halls and “Coffee with a Cop”, will be planned throughout the year.

In 2022-2023 we began construction of a new Dispatch Center and remodeling of the Police Station. Construction has been completed on both projects. In 2024, construction on the new Police Annex will begin. The Annex will house the Detective Division, Training Center/Briefing Room, and new locker rooms.

The Police Department is committed to making the City of Desert Hot Springs a great place to live, play, work, and visit!
