2024 National Public Works Week

During the 2024 National Public Works Week, our Public Works Department collaborated with our Recreation Department to educate the kids of Desert Hot Springs about the essential services Public Works provides to the City.

Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of all City Parks, City Streets, Traffic Signals, City Buildings, and all Landscape and Drainage Assessment Districts.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve and maintain the infrastructure of the City of Desert Hot Springs, and to protect the health and welfare of our residents, businesses, and visitors; to provide quality services to our customers, within available resources, in a timely and efficient manner; to provide these services, as well as to support economic growth and development, with the unity and trust of highly qualified and skilled personnel; and to serve as first responders in emergency situations.

Engineering

The Engineering Division designs, plan checks, constructs and inspects all public improvement projects including the City’s Capital Improvement Projects and private development projects.
